These are some pictures of my car that I installed the Solo exhaust system on in March and just recently welded on a set of the new tips. You can see that they fit the car well and are a great look for a great exhaust system. I had no problems getting them in there and they complete the system nicely. I am very happy with the Solo system.

Thanks to Steve and Jeff for doing such a nice system for the Challengers and always being available to talk and listen.

They are a reliable group. A good vendor isn’t easy to find these days.

So I fiiinally get to break my silence about these tips. The wait has been killing me, because I’ve had these on my car for over a month now!!!

For those of you who don’t want to wait for the ending, let me just say these tips are SPECTACULAR – exactly what the car needs. Quality is superb and price is right. What’s not to love?

Longer version of the story is this:
You’ll note in the second one that I basically had figured out the options were pretty much nonexistant if you wanted rectangular tips, so I went to one of our (at the time) big forum vendors and asked if they would make them. After a lot of negotiation and me selling the idea with them they agreed to make them if there was enough interest. So I posted that poll thread here and on every Challenger forum I could find. Before long I had collected a couple hundred people who were interested, so Billet Tech got working on designing them! The end was in sight!

Except that it never materialized. Not faulting them at all, but they had much larger projects in the works (the Mopar’10 Challenger for one) and never quite got past the CAD design stage of the tips. And so the project sat, me with my Dynomax exhaust and cheesy Pep-Boys looking tips.

Then along came SOLO with their wonderful J-pipe exhaust system. I was of course one of the first to get that exhaust and reviewed it here: Omi goes SOLO! and of course it’s everything an sweet exhaust system should be. Only problem is, the tips it came with were VERY nice quad round but just not appropriate for the Challenger that needs quad rectangles to look right.

Many others apparently felt the same way, so I talked with the good folks at Solo and they tackled the project head on. It took some time, because apparently there’s quite a bit of custom tooling that had to be set up to make this happen, but the end result are the tips you see here. :thumbs_up:

Just the right size to fill the exhaust opening, just the right thickness to look right, offset to follow the curve of the bumper – amazing!!! They’re actually double walled and the quality is superb. I’m told they’re made in pieces then hand fitted into a welding jig, so each one is essentially hand made.

There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like these on the market folks, these are DA SHIZZLE. And at a price way below the closest competitor, the Pypes tips, that are single walled and cheesy by comparison. These tips are really a winner!!!

At my suggestion, Solo made them available in 2 inlet sizes, 2.5″ and 3″, so they can be fitted to any exhaust, from factory stock to aftermarket.

No one even came close on these tips. I strongly recommend you all take advantage of this group buy and get these tips while you can. Last I heard they were taking a lot of direct orders that cost more, so best to get going on this while ya can.
