Warnings and Safety Measures
• Please follow the exhaust install instructions carefully.
• Do not fully tighten the front flange connection until everything is properly aligned and in place.
• There is an exhaust shield that is bolted to the manifold that should be removed. Once removed, it is easier to access the manifold bolts that hold the exhaust system on.
• Solo’s flex pipe is a bigger diameter so the shield must be bent or trimmed so that it does not interfere with the flex as it moves / vibrates. The shield should be re-installed after the Solo exhaust kit has been put on.
1. Remove the bolts that hold on the heat shield to the manifold. This heat shield bolts to the manifold and continues down to the flex pipe area.
2. Save the heat shield and bolts for re-installation later.
3. Remove the bolts that connect the exhaust system to the manifold/converter.
4. Save these bolts (and gasket) as they will be needed later.
5. The exhaust system is now free from the front connection and must be maneuvered to release the exhaust hangers attached to the stock exhaust from the rubber hangers.
6. If you pull down on the rubbers and squirt soapy water into them it will be easier to remove. You could use WD40 but it is harder on the rubbers.
7. Your exhaust system is now off.
1. Put the Solo exhaust kit into the stock rubber hangers.
2. Align the front gasket that goes between the manifold and Solo exhaust kit.
3. Install bolts in the same fashion that they came apart. Tighten evenly.
4. Re-install the heat shield using the stock bolts that attach to the manifold. Note: the heat shield needs to have clearance from the thicker diameter Solo flex pipe. Bending or trimming the shield may be required.
5. Check the system for clearance and rattles.
6. You are now finished
7. Drive away and… Enjoy Going Solo!
